Beira F1
Tronchuda
Portuguese Kale ("Gallena"). Leafy loose head for Portuguese and Brazilian markets. Beira is a good variety for cooler weather (spring and fall). Susceptible to tip-burn in hot, dry weather -- irrigate when dry. Harvest whole plant, up to 7 pounds, or harvest individual leaves. Unique flavor and meaty texture for Portuguese kale soup (caldo verde).
